Another quarter, another marketing plan?  Feel like you’re constantly reinventing the wheelUnclear about your messaging?  All over the place with delivery?

You know me – I like to chunk things down into simple 90day timeframes.

Each quarter has 12/13 weeks.

For me it’s easy to break that down further into 2 x 6 weeks with a week of wiggle room.

I map out 6 weeks of marketing using just 6 simple lead magnets/freebies/value content (call it what you will . . . it’s what I give away that has fantastic value IF and WHEN people use it).

Each week I have a series of communications that go up on LinkedIn, facebook and Instagram.  I tell the story of each value packed document which means my message is clear and focussed on ONE THING each week.

That helps us to share a clear message for our readers/connections.  They get a better idea of what I/we do.  It also helps us to track who asks for each particular offering.  We can promote, offer, keep in touch and deliver . . . every week.

The next week = the next offering.

It’s about building trust and relationship and is so much easier for us as each time the 6 week cycle ends, we restart it, review and refine the content.  No more ‘empty page’ terrors.

No more constantly wondering what to post – we follow our system.  We are planned, focussed and consistent.

That’s how to get known for something.

That also gives you the opportunity to upgrade not just your marketing but your content, your offerings and your own clarity.

Stop making life hard and give it a go . . . but first make sure you use the 6 MARKETING QUESTIONS to focus on WHO you’re marketing to, WHERE you can find them in the highest concentration – that’s 80% of your success right there.

So, there are two lessons here that I want to share with you:

1) It’s OK to publicly disagree with others.
Actually, it’s a great way to get a bit more visibility and leverage the other person’s brand. 

If the other person is a celebrity, even better. You’ll get more attention because of it. 

But, be genuine and polite about it!

2) It’s a smart strategy to create content based on what someone else is doing. 

In this case, Julian wrote a post based on a tweet from Kevin O’Leary.

Julian didn’t have to come up with the whole idea himself. 

All he did was add his 2 cents to the conversation that was already happening. 

That’s smart & simple to do. 

So, could you write a post like this today?
